When I began going out to collect cans, I never once imagined that this would be a lonely and difficult journey.Don't get me wrong though because I am not complaining......the Lord has been really good to me and I have found favor with him.
Sometimes,I feel like I am not doing much or that I am not collecting as many cans I should be.Today, is one of those days and even though I know that I will not give up on what I have decided to do for my people, my spirit is low.My dream is simple yet big and I know deep within me that I will get to the end of this journey.
The last few days have also been particularly hard for me..it's been 2 yrs since mama went to be with the Lord(24th Aug 2008)and though I don't mourn anymore, I miss her beyond what words could describe.I promise to continue doing what she was doing for the community and more.
I am looking forward to better days and accomplishement.Thank you for your support dear friends.

I'm back!
Hi everyone,
Its been a while since i blogged here.I have been very busy collecting cans.I also took sometime to go home for about 4 months between April and August and spent some time identifying what areas are critical for me to start with and in what way.I will be sharing with you my insights in the coming month. As of now I am back in Birmingham, collecting cans and trying to piece this project together from this end so that I can begin to implement it in Mt Elgon Asap.Tomorrow will mark the anniversary of my mum's departure. The woman to whom I owe the brainchild of this idea.I am actively working to make sure her memory will be kept alive by my endeavors in trying to alleviate some of the problems I see in my homeland. Mt Elgon hasn't changed much.people are still dying of preventable diseases.Health facilities are still lacking in some of the most basic of commodities and government proposals and ventures are yet to be realized. There is work to do yet and I will continue to do the best I can towards helping my people. That is why I am here and I feel that is what God has put me on earth to do.Over the next few weeks I will with the help of some friends on the ground post pictures and interviews so you can get to know the scope of the problem and as you assist me you will have a better picture of what it is that we are trying to do there.I continue to welcome your ideas and thoughts(as well as your cans) as we try to make this dream a reality for the underprivileged people of Mt Elgon.Do feel free to contact me here or on our Facebook page or call me if you want more information.Thank you for your support and assistance.I will be in touch much more often now. Thanks again.
